An Intimate, Natural Wedding at Castle Mountain in Pincher Creek, Alberta
The only thing better than meeting your significant other at your favorite place in the world is having your wedding at your favorite place in the world. Christine Marechal (31 and a physician) and Mitch Strong (29 and an engineer) were lucky enough to do both. Although they were legally married while attending graduate school in the US, the couple celebrated their nuptials at Castle Mountain in Pincher Creek, Alberta, a place both grew up visiting and where they met one snowy day on the resort's ski lift. Christine and Mitch renewed their vows at the same ski lift in an intimate ceremony officiated by a close friend, with their daughter hugging their legs and their pet dog in tow. The natural beauty of the mountains during the summertime was all the backdrop they needed, and the couple kept the rest of their ceremony decor to a minimum. The following reception took place indoors at Christine's family cabin nearby. Long dining tables were decorated with tree rings and mason jars filled with fresh flowers. As a nod to the setting, the escort cards were designed to resemble lift tickets. After a barbecue dinner, the newlyweds and their guests went into the backyard for dancing and a bonfire. To top off the festive evening, Christine and Mitch gave their guests DIY s'mores kits to enjoy at the bonfire as wedding favors. Loree Photography captured all the amazing details from the day.
