An Intimate Rooftop Wedding at Plenty Mercantile in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Erin Blackwood and Justin Baier’s intimate rooftop wedding was filled with playful, rustic details and pops of vibrant color. “We have family spread across the US, and even the world. Our vision was to have a relaxing atmosphere with good food to bring everyone together with smiles and laughter,” Erin says.

The day was packed with DIY touches made by the couple and their families and friends. A personalized set of giant Jenga and cornhole kept guests laughing and having fun postceremony, while wood hoops draped with seeded eucalyptus and flowers and large handmade wood letters spelling out "love" made a bold statement during the reception. Justin’s dad officiated the ceremony, and a close friend treated the couple and their guests to classic wedding cake and Oreo truffles. “Don’t be afraid to ask for help from friends and family," the couple insists. "People truly want to help and are overjoyed at playing a special part in your big day.”

“Even our guests participated in a DIY project,” Erin says. “They wrote notes to us on white and navy paper, then folded them into paper planes to throw at us when we left at the end of the night. Justin is in the Air Force, so we wanted to honor his service and his love of airplanes.”

The evening’s carefree vibe carried over to dinner, where guests dined on flavorful Mexican fare and margaritas on Plenty Mercantile’s rooftop. “Everyone loved the atmosphere the food created: casual, but delicious!” Erin says.

To make the most of their time with their guests, the couple kept the dancing portion of the evening to a minimum, opting instead to mix, mingle and catch up with family and friends.
