What started out as a routine Sunday watching football at a New York City bar quickly turned into more for Brian Steinwascher (31 and an attorney) and David Lederman (30 and an investment banker). It was then that the two met and became inseparable. Nearly two years later, Brian shocked David with a proposal that included a Rolex watch rather than a ring. "He later surprised me with the same watch under the reasoning that I should also have something to reflect our engagement," Brian says. The New York-based couple looked west and planned a beach destination wedding on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. After ditching a set color scheme in favor of classic "old Hawaii" elegance, they incorporated muted linens, clean lines and plenty of dark wood accents throughout their ranch reception. With all of their details come together, they created a timeless day that was both warm and welcoming.

Guests sipped two sweet signature cocktails: a classic mai tai and a tequila punch. "We wanted our menu to reflect our own tastes and the tastes of Hawaii," the couple says.
Rustic Indoor Reception Table
Natural ivory linens topped each wood table along with a mixed variety of candles, lanterns and centerpieces in the wood vessels. As for the ceremony maile leis? They doubled as chair decorations!
Lush tropical arrangements were created using orchids, ferns, tropical greens, proteas and even mini pineapples.
White paper lanterns and wooden letters lent a playful feel to the open, airy reception space.
Brian and David's sit-down dinner included a two-tier vanilla and passion fruit confection, complete with a strip detail on the bottom of each tier.
