An Ivory-and-Blush-Tone Garden Wedding at Greenacres Arts Center in Cincinnati, Ohio

When she was 12, Colleen Kennedy (26 and a community coordinator) thought “Kissing You” by Des’ree was the perfect love song. “Fourteen years later, I walked down the aisle to a string quartet playing it,” she says. She wed William (Billy) Rumpke III (26 and a VP in waste and recycling services) under a floral trellis in a bloom-filled garden, giving their nuptials a coveted botanical feel. “It was one of the most perfect moments in my life," she says. A tented reception with a live band followed, and the evening was capped off with late-night snacking on a Cincinnati staple: a three-way mash-up of spaghetti, chili and cheese. An almond cake boasted layers of Amaretto mousseline, raspberry preserves and toasted almonds topped with white-chocolate icing and edible gold leaf. “I wanted our wedding to take everyone’s breath away,” Colleen says of the open-air affair. “If heaven had a garden party, it would look like our reception.”
