An Modern, Romantic Wedding at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia
For their late spring wedding in Atlanta, Ga., Courtney Necessary (30 and a management consultant) and Chase Condon (27 and works in financial services) planned an unforgettable affair that was a little bit modern, a little bit traditional and a whole lot of fun.
“I dos” at Oak Grove Methodist Church was a given for the fun-loving pair. The elegant chandeliers, intricate architectural detailing and history (both of Courtney’s sisters had been married in the very same spot) provided the perfect backdrop for their heartfelt ceremony. To give the proceedings an extra special touch, the couple incorporated their closest family members and friends whenever possible; Courtney’s best friend and aunt sang the Lord’s Prayer and a special hymn, and the couple’s grandparents made an appearance at the altar for a family prayer and blessing.
After being announced husband and wife, the newlyweds whisked guests off to the Fox Theater for a swingin’ soiree. “The theater has a special place in our hearts, as I was a professional ballet dancer and performed on that very stage in over 400 performances,” says Courtney. “It’s also where Chase got down on one knee!”
A celebratory cigar bar greeted guests as they filed through the theater’s grand entrance, leading way to a a room filled with intimate candlelight, glam gilded accents and floral arrangements overflowing with luxurious pink peonies and garden roses. Mirrors and mercury glass details reflected the light throughout the unique space, while clusters if family photos added a personalized element to the decor.
Champagne flowed and the couple kicked off the celebrations with a first dance to “Hooked on a Feeling,” after which the dance floor was packed all night long.
