An Organic-Chic Fall Wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia

Annie Loar (27 and a sales representative) and Jake, Shirey (28 and a sales representative) became friendly at Auburn University but didn't start dating until they reconnected during reunion trip with mutual friends. Jake first asked Annie to be his girlfriend while they were sitting on her front porch and later proposed after a spaghetti dinner at her family's farm. "After we ate, we rode around the property for a while and finally ended up stopping along the banks of the pond," says Annie. "Jake was standing up by the water and then walked over to me, grabbed my hands and led me to the shore—but I still had no clue what was happening. The conversation turned serious and Jake got down on one knee and proposed!" By the time the couple started planning, Annie already had a good idea of what she wanted and coordinated an organic fall wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge Reynolds Plantation, Sandy Creek Barn in Greensboro, Georgia. A rich color palette of red, gold, burgundy and sage lent a seasonal air to the lakeside soiree and added a dramatic pop of color to the tented reception. Both Annie and Jake love being outdoors and the groom in particular has a passion for hunting, so they incorporated game elements throughout their reception. "We had deer antlers in the bay leaf wreaths, in the fixture above the head table and along the farm tables as well as pheasant feathers mixed in throughout the florals," says Annie. An organic rose and garland flower installation hung from an antique ladder of the rustic head table. "Our wedding was inspired by the fall landscape in Georgia," says Annie. "I wanted the wedding to look styled, yet still organic."
