Samantha Taylor (22 and a math teacher) played tennis over the summer with Tyler Haislip (a civil engineer) at Greene Ridge Racquet Club in North Carolina and quickly hit it off on their first date later that fall. A week before Tyler proposed, he told Samantha that she should start looking at rings—so she wouldn't see it coming just a few days later!—and caught her completely off guard when he popped the question during a weekend hike up Snake Mountain. The pair immediately began planning and instead of hiring a professional, Samantha opted to take on most of the organizing herself. A springy wisteria purple and khaki color palette set a relaxed tone for their organic vineyard wedding at Banner Elk Winery in Banner Elk, North Carolina. The couple utilized wine barrels that were already on the property to decorate their outdoor vineyard ceremony along with lush clusters of lavender, Queen Anne’s lace, scabiosa and roses. Guests were treated to an outdoors seated dinner with an organic tablescape that included exposed wood farm tables topped with lace runners, eucalyptus garlands and potted plants. "Tyler and I fell in love with the mountains over the years and we knew that’s where we wanted to get married," says Samantha. "I wanted a simple, rustic and southern wedding and everything fell into place once we found our location!"

The rustic boutonnieres were made from lavender, scabiosa and eucalyptus. "My florist was awesome—I basically told her my colors, gave her a picture of my vision and let her handle the rest!" says Samantha.
Samantha had narrowed it down to two bridesmaid dresses that she liked and let her girls decide on the wisteria chiffon, one-shoulder dresses from David's Bridal.
The groomsmen wore tan suit pants, white button-down shirts and wisteria ties that matched the bridesmaids' purple dresses.
Samantha carried a lush bouquet of sweet pea, foxglove, larkspur, Queen Anne’s lace, bells of Ireland, bee balm, lavender, scabiosa and roses.
