The wedding of Kelly Wynne Ferguson (27 and the founder/designer at Kelly Wynne) and Walt Ferguson (27 and an assistant project manager) was filled with over-the-top touches and lavish details at every turn. Their day unfolded in Kelly’s hometown at Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas, a beautiful, elegant venue where Kelly has many memories from growing up. “Austin is a destination for many, but for me, it will always be home,” Kelly says of their decision to get married there. Wedding planner Gina Whittington of the Whitt Experience spared no creative detail, adding twists of modern whimsy to Kelly and Walt’s Southern style to create a magnificent atmosphere in all parts of their day. Merveille Flowers & Events created eye-catching displays of flowers and painted succulents that filled every corner of the room, from a chandelier covered in calla lilies to overflowing floral centerpieces, mixed metallic succulent rosettes and even a pair of gold lions with magnolia-leaf and succulent leis. Kelly and Walt even had a custom gold metallic wedding cake and, to show Walt’s true love for his state, an eight-foot groom’s cake that looked like “small town Texas.” Their favorite detail? The Atlanta Party Band came from Atlanta, Georgia, to perform Kelly and Walt’s favorite music and kept the party going all night. The end of the night was an unforgettable experience: They performed Journey's “Don’t Stop Believing” as confetti cannons burst over the dance floor, followed by Kelly and Walt’s grand exit into a vintage Rolls-Royce. Kelly and Walt’s recessional was the highlight of their ceremony. As they walked up the aisle as husband and wife, two trumpet players followed behind while one of the quartet's soloists sang “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.

The lawn provided a relaxing spot to soak up the Austin, Texas, ambience. Casual lounge furniture with plenty of pillows, a wooden bar with a custom "Greetings From Austin" banner backdrop and even a guitar-shaped glass sculpture (for martinis) channeled the laid-back scene.

Kelly and Walt started the night with an upbeat song, "Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher" by Jackie Wilson. They'd been dancing together for years—Kelly loved how her Pnina Tornai ball gown spun around her as Walt twirled her.
The custom five-tier cake had gold shimmering fondant with rose-gold detailing. The layers were based on the textured leather of one of Kelly’s handbag collections, and the motifs were the same as those on their save-the-dates. The confection even had an entire tier of rosettes to match Kelly’s dress.
Walter’s eight-foot-long groom’s cake displayed a scene from small-town Texas, complete with a mansion, a windmill and cows.

At the end of the night, Kelly and Walt hopped onto the back of a 1979 Rolls-Royce convertible and waved good-bye as they drove through a tunnel of fireworks. "Talk about sparks flying—it was gorgeous and lit up the sky for our final surprise," Kelly says.
