An Ultra-Chic Garden Wedding at a Private Residence in Rumson, New Jersey
Casey Shanley (a teacher) and Harry Kegelman (works in the shipping business) decided to have their wedding at Casey’s home in Rumson, New Jersey (it was an added bonus that they also met there when they took the bus together in grade school!). They loved the gorgeous family gardens, which inspired the entire wedding. Casey and Harry used a blush, ivory and green color palette with timeless black-and-white details and countless floral arrangements for their extravagant, ultra-chic wedding. After their traditional Catholic ceremony at Church of the Precious Blood, the couple took a vintage Rolls Royce to their home while guests took a trolley. Guests arrived to the home and walked down the long driveway lined with lanterns. They were met with specialty drinks served on silver platters. When they entered the cocktail hour tent, through a black-and-white striped cabana, they were welcomed with black-and-white custom linens, a black-and-white striped chandelier and Greek key valence patterns around the outside. Casey and Harry left the sides of the tent open to welcome the garden inside and even cut a hole in the floor of the tent for one of the trees to come through the middle of the soiree. They decorated the reception tent with ornate blush and green monogrammed linens, crystal chandeliers, rose petal lamps and more trees. Chef Max Hansen, who Casey and Harry selected for his exceptional culinary expertise, catered a delicious dinner and Casey’s aunt (and owner of Flaky Tart) made three-tier white buttercream carrot cake decorated with buttercream flowers. At the end of the night, guests went back into the cocktail hour tent, which had been flipped into a dance floor complete with groovy lighting from Event Lights!
