An Ultra-Luxe Wedding at Willard InterContinental in Washington, DC
We can't get enough of this luxurious DC wedding. Jackie McKesey (26 and a medical student) and Donovan Gholar (27 and a personal fitness trainer) took glam to the next level with their festive celebration at the Willard InterContinental in Washington, DC. With a palette of ivory, gold and blush accents that highlighted the venue's existing color scheme, they transformed the hotel's already-stunning Grand Ballroom into an enchanting dream. Alternating long and round dining tables arranged with chiavari chairs featured tall, dome-shape vases and wreaths of ivory hydrangeas, lisianthus, orchids and pops of blush roses. Place settings were set with gold and ivory dinnerware and glittery gold place cards. And everywhere you looked, there were candles. "I wanted the whole wedding to glow," Jackie says. The romantic candlelight from various crystal candelabras around the room echoed the ornate chandeliers above the two-story space. But the focal point of the reception had to be the sweetheart table backdrop, gorgeous white draping that spanned the entire back wall of the ballroom. Although Jackie and Donovan planned a super-chic affair, they weren't afraid to have fun with it. For their entrance, their bridal party walked in to "Yeah x3" by Chris Brown. Then Jackie and Donovan walked in to "Look at Me Now." "We ended up dancing with the rest of the bridal party in the middle of the dance floor," Jackie says.
