An Understated Modern Wedding at Venue 92 in Woodstock, Georgia

High school sweethearts Deanna Morrow (22 and a dental hygienist) and Michael Sloan (22 and an IT consultant) got engaged during their senior year at the University of Pittsburgh and spent their final semester planning a contemporary fall wedding at Venue 92. After a pink and gray garden ceremony with their new monogram hanging as a backdrop, the couple celebrated in the venue's newly renovated space. In order to achieve a modern feel, Deanna worked with a gray color palette and added a splash of color with blush garden roses. The couple's wedding party set the tone for the neutral color scheme with the groomsmen in dark gray tuxedos and the bridesmaids in light silver dresses. "I found the most beautiful dress on and was determined to find it in stores," says Deanna. "I ended up having it shipped to Atlanta just in time for slight alterations before the wedding!" night’s highlight was the shoe game: the couple sat back-to-back so they couldn’t see each other the best man and maid-of-honor asked them questions about their relationship. “Our guests loved our responses especially since we couldn't see each others answers,” says Deanna. “It brought smiles and laughter throughout the venue and I felt that everyone could relate to it based on how well they knew us as a couple.”
