Margot Peroni (33 and a direct saleswoman) and Bastian Schroder (35 and the owner of Horseflight.com) wanted a wedding that would accommodate Bastian's out-of-country guests (the groom hails from Germany) and also be different from the handful of weddings Margot's family had attended that year. "We wanted to do something different from everyone else, but also something that felt like a vacation for our friends and family traveling long distances to be with us," Margot says. Margot's cousin recommended Gasparilla Inn & Club in Boca Grande, and the couple immediately fell in love with the island and the inn's old Florida elegance. Inspired by the location, the couple went with an upscale, rustic feel with nautical elements (like the dried starfish attached to the escort cards). The white escort cards were tied with a navy blue ribbon to white dried starfish, adding a nautical touch to the wedding decor.
Since the groom's family was from Germany and would be traveling overseas for the wedding, the couple decided to hold a wedding weekend vacation for their friends and family at Gasparilla Inn & Club in Boca Grande, Florida.
The five bridesmaids wore oyster-colored Dessy dresses with a sweetheart neckline. Margot bought each bridesmaid Julie Vos earrings as a gift to wear.
The couple exchanged vows outdoors on Banyan Street in Boca Grande, Florida.
Tall glass candelabra vases held lush arrangements of white and green hydrangeas for the round table centerpiece decor.
Small arrangements of white peonies, tulips and green hydrangeas decorated the long main reception table.
The four-tier white cake had fresh flowers on the top layer and cascading down the sides.
The reception was held outdoors on the Croquet Lawn of Gasparilla Inn & Club, under a large, white tent.
