Bright, Bohemian Beach Wedding at Postcard Inn on the Beach in St. Pete Beach, Florida

It took a long time for Jaymi Krohn's (38 and a visiting registered nurse) brother to convince her to date his best friend, Chad Holland (32 and a mitigation manager). He secretly invited them both on a trip to Costa Rica, and the two of them realized that they were meant to be. Years later, Chad proposed on Christmas morning with the help of their young daughter, Noelle. Chad had Noelle hand her a Christmas ornament from the tree, and when she opened it she found a ring inside. Looking to have an old-school backyard wedding that reflected their modern family, Jaymi and Chad drew inspiration from Mexican cantina parties from days gone by. "Old photos from these events always seemed charming to me—warm, whimsical and inviting," Jaymi says. When they came across the intimate space and the market lights at Postcard Inn on the Beach in St. Pete Beach, Florida, they knew it would be the perfect setting for their wedding. From there they settled on bold shades of turquoise, red, pink and yellow and whimsical paper flowers to round out their vision for the fun beach fiesta. With Florida's June weather in mind, Jaymi chose a light, airy satin slip dress that looked both simple and elegant, which she accessorized with a fresh floral crown to match the flower girls. Chad and their son, Ethan, wore beachy linen vests and matching ties. Both of their children joined them for a hand-fasting ceremony, where their officiant wrapped rope around their hands to symbolize the intertwining of destinies. In keeping with the lighthearted vibe, guests threw beach balls at the couple as they walked up the aisle and a steel drum played in the background. —Meghan Overdeep
