Casual Desert Wedding at the Gage Hotel in Marathon, Texas

Jesse Bunton (32, special education teacher) met Lucius Desha Bunton V (31) through two great friends and dated when they were both in their mid-twenties. They decided to part ways and went on living their lives apart, though kept in touch occasionally (purposely) ran into each other. Several years later, Jesse and Desha found each other again and ended up realizing that their ‘fling’ was more of a love story. Desha proposed on the eve of Valentine’s Day, and the wedding planning began. The couple decided to host their big day at the historic and luxurious Gage Hotel in the charming, desert town of Marathon, Texas. "Our families hold West Texas close to their hearts—my family because it's their favorite place to escape, and Desha's because his parents are from there. It just made sense for us, and I can't imagine our wedding taking place anywhere else." Their casual, romantic day began with the ceremony on the beautiful lawn at Captain Shepard House under the big Texas sky. After the happy couple exchanged their “I do’s,” their guests headed down the way to the courtyard where they enjoyed blue grass music and appetizers prepared by the 12 Gage Restaurant. Jesse and Desha chose a muted color palette of whites, greens and soft pinks to compliment the natural beauty of the West Texas desert landscape. Everyone had a wonderful time dancing the night away under the twinkling lights and the starry night sky!
