Copper, Black and Red Made This Beaulieu Garden Wedding in Napa Valley, California, Shine
Nine years into their relationship and four years after they got engaged, Stephanie and Corey celebrated their union with an intimate, al fresco fête at St. Helena’s Beaulieu Garden. “We visited a lot of venues, but the garden felt like a place where you could relax in a formal setting,” Stephanie says. Prior to the wedding, Stephanie attempted to hand-deliver sparkling wine save-the-dates to all 94 guests. “I dropped off as many bottles as I could,” she says. “It turned into an epic 800-mile adventure that landed me in some pretty crazy snowstorms.” Guests later received leather-bound invitations in the mail. Five dresses were a must for Stephanie, a former bridal designer, whose custom looks ranged from a sleeved, silk taffeta gown to a high-low design suited for a night of dancing. “I bought the fabric in Los Angeles and flew to Hong Kong to get them made,” she says. “Behind the scenes, I was recutting and hemming the dresses the night before our wedding to make them more functional.” Beyond impeccable fashion, the details of the day shone, too. Copper flatware and modern marble chargers popped beneath a pergola strung with metal chain chandeliers. Two takes on signature paloma cocktails were served in miniature drinking glasses “so everyone could get a taste,” Stephanie says. The newlyweds spent six months perfecting their rumba routine to Michael Bublé’s “Everything.” Rather than exit before their guests, Stephanie and Corey stuck around to see family and friends off postparty. “It was important that our guests left first and we left last as a way to say ‘thank you,’ ” Stephanie says.
