Soft Shades of Cream and Dusty Sage Filled This Beach Wedding at Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico

Isabella and Keegan tied the knot with a beach destination wedding at Banyan Tree Mayakoba in Mexico. The couple envisioned their wedding having a "modern but approachable" feel and so they settled on a neutral color palette to anchor the day. With a venue as stunning as Banyan Tree Mayakoba, it was paramount to the couple that nothing detract from the existing beauty, and instead, they sought to elegantly complement the venue.

"For the ceremony, I really wanted just wood tones, white flowers and dry flowers," says Isabella. "We wanted to keep it very neutral with the tones of the sand and let the ocean and the sky in front and above us be the pop of color. The arch for the ceremony was a wooden square to frame us with the ocean past us." Following the beach wedding ceremony, the couple decamped to MK Blue for the wedding reception. "The MK BLUE is made of all white driftwood and has high-pitched ceilings with a canal of water circling a wooden deck with tropical greenery all around. Our vision was to complement the space's inherent beauty. We added a greenery chandelier above the dance floor with some disco balls in the middle. Then for our tables, the centerpiece had lots of greenery and dried elements."

For personalization, the couple hired a 12-piece mariachi band and also brought in a cigar bar for extra entertainment on the wedding day. They also had a globe serve as a guest-book alternative that they now have as decor in their home to always remind them of their epic beach destination wedding in Mexico.

"As cheesy as it sounds, saying our vows was a special moment that be beat," recalls Isabella. "It is such a surreal feeling and it was so special and filled with emotions. Every time I pictured our wedding leading up to the day I just kept thinking 'I can't wait for that moment when we are finally husband and wife, and I am called by his last name for the first time in front of all our loved ones.' As special as everything else was on our wedding day, I think that moment was monumental."
