Angie Lasman (28 and a broadcast meteorologist) and Adam Vangel (31 and a sales representative) spent years exploring the world together, but eventually decided to embark on a new adventure: marriage. After getting engaged during a trip to Peru, the pair swapped vows in a natural-yet-sophisticated celebration in the bucolic Michigan countryside. “So much of our wedding vibe revolved around our love of travel,” Angie says. Guests hitched a ride in a golf cart to the reception, picked up a “boarding pass” escort card, arrived at their table and watched as the pair started their best adventure yet.

For their big day looks, Angie added a touch of glam to her elegant gown with silver heels, a diamond bracelet and a sapphire ring from her paternal grandfather, while Adam looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo. Angie’s gals rocked seasonal velvet dresses, half opting for a dusty rose hues and half in a rich marigold.

As for décor, since the ceremony took place at the top of a hill in the woods, the couple wanted to keep their ceremony flowers simple with pampas grass, wild foliage and roses. The reception space combined long wooden tables with velvet-covered round ones for added dimension and interest. Custom watercolor table markers displayed the names of favorite cities that Angie and Adam have visited together over the years. Marigold and rose taper candles dotted the long dining tables, which were covered in velvet linens that echoed the bridesmaids’ attire. For their first dance, the duo danced to “Eyes on You” by Chase Rice to honor their worldwide travels together. “We love to travel, and exploration and adventure were such a big part of our day, so it just felt right to have this song as our first dance,” Angie says. To end the night on a sweet note, edible gold leafing dotted the exterior of the couple's two-tier wedding cake, which consisted of one layer of vanilla and one of chocolate.
