A Jewel-Tone Vintage Wedding at Brookmill Farm in Lambertville, New Jersey

Kelly Rizzuto (27 and works in advertising) and David Knapp (27 and works at Scenic Landscaping) met through a mutual friend. Burgundy hues and lush florals nodded to the day’s inspiration: the wineries of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, which they fell in love with on vacation. The invitation suite’s watercolor motif set the tone for the dreamy affair. “I always had a feeling it would end up raining on our wedding day, so I wasn’t that surprised it actually did,” Kelly says. “I know it sounds cheesy, but the rain made our ceremony more intimate.” Kelly and David wed beneath a romantic floral arch decked out in burgundy and orange blooms and flanked by two wine barrels. Kelly wore an ivory fit-and-flare gown with a delicate illusion neckline, while her bridesmaids donned a mix of floral and burgundy gowns inspired by the day’s flowers.
Kelly and David included vintage touches throughout their wedding. Assorted antiques, like books, lanterns and clocks, added a touch of whimsy to the large wood bar, while crystal vases and decanters held blooms. Overflowing arrangements in gold urns and romantic votives topped the reception tables. The two-tier wedding cake was finished with fresh foliage, dahlias and a gold “crazy love” topper. The couple also packaged 300 s’mores kits themselves. “The idea was to cook s’mores by the fire pit on the property,” Kelly says of the rained-out activity. “Everyone still ate the chocolate and the marshmallows though!”
