The couple took on a few DIY projects to bring their vision for the reception to life, focusing on creating gilded elements that would infuse the Grand Pavilion, where the reception took place, with undeniable glamour and winter whimsy. Gold-dipped vases popped against the classic ivory table linens, with bundles of white, romantic blooms bringing a note of freshness to the tablescapes. “Finding our dream venue in Gold Country felt serendipitous, so gold became a leading motif,” Bess says. “There were gold-dipped candles, gold-dipped vases of all sizes, gold-dipped antlers for our centerpieces, gold-dipped bark pencils for the Mad Libs, gold-dipped A and B marquee letters and a gold-dipped buck and doe for our cake topper.”
