A Glamorous, Spring Wedding at The Liberty Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York

Hayley Miskiewicz (29 and an attorney) and Jared Newman (29 and an attorney) planned a romantic, glamorous affair at The Libery Warehouse in Brooklyn, NY in the height of spring. The day started with a waterfront ceremony, where the couple exchanged vows under an elaborate floral chuppah, featuring a handmade tallit lovingly made by the groom’s late mother and garlands of white blooms and lush green vines. Funk brass band Lucky Chops led the bridal party down the aisle to a rousing rendition of “Hey Soul Sister,” by Train, after which Jared’s uncle Danny Siegel officiated the ultimate, nontraditional and highly personalized ceremony. “It was personal, sweet and to the point,” says Hayley. “Jared and I met at Brooklyn Law School and, as two attorneys, we felt that it was important for us to draft our own vows.” After saying their “I do’s,” the evening’s festivities kicked off with a lively outdoor cocktail hour, complete with upbeat tunes provided by Lucky Chops, signature cocktails and a decadent spread of passed apps. The reception was a feast for the eyes, with the Liberty Warehouse dressed to the nines with over-the-top cherry blossom arrangements and strands of Edison bulbs illuminating the dining area and dance floor. “We wanted the room to feel like a forest and Luis K did exactly that,” says Hayley. “He added candles to the branches of cherry blossoms that made the centerpieces feel delicate and ethereal.” After dinner guests indulged in a mouthwatering selection of ice cream cake, then headed to the dance floor where the 74 Events brought the house down all night long. “I’m a huge ice cream fan, so we worked closely with the staff at Ample Hills Creamery to design our wedding cake,” says Hayley. “This involved two cake tastings of over 20 flavors, sketching our vision of a rustic, unfrosted wedding cake. Although we chose four flavors for the cake, for fun, we served an additional two flavors to our guests at dessert time.” A tip for the taking from Hayley: “Take risks and have fun!”
