One Couple's Luxe Black-and-White Wedding at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu, California
As the co-founder of GlamGlow, Shannon knows a thing or two about luxury, and her wedding to Luciano at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu, California, is dazzling proof. The couple leaned into a glam black-and-white palette, accented with gold, for their stunning celebration. A flower-filled ceremony kicked off the day before guests enjoyed a dinner reception under a chandelier-filled custom open-air structure. Shannon and Luciano wanted to create an environment that felt modern and cool with a sexy vibe and used their own home and its decor as inspiration for the aesthetic of their nuptials. Their goal was to create a "modern garden with marble details" to welcome their 85 guests to the Malibu, California, wedding.
"We fell in love with Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu," recalls Shannon of the couple's venue search. "We loved the idea of all the animals around and the green rustic feel of the location, however, my personal design style is more chic and glam." From there, the couple settled on their event designer before jumping feet-first into creating their glam black-and-white wedding celebration. "I found our event designer on Instagram and absolutely loved her design style. We talked on the phone and I knew right away she was the planner for us. I knew she would be able to blend the venue with our design style. We wanted the look to be gold, black, white with a hint of blush and greenery to tie into the outdoors. A must was incredible chandeliers. What came to life blew our minds from the mix of the mirrored long tables to round tables with a leather table cloths, candles and lush flowers. What made the biggest statement for us was the open structure that was built, which took two days to install. It was black and open on all sides with beautiful white fabric draped above but still open so you could still see the sky. Chandeliers were hung over each table with an incredible cluster over the dance floor," recalls Shannon of the couple's epic wedding reception.
The couple's wedding date was also Shannon's older daughter's birthday so it was important to the duo that they incorporate celebrating her birthday into the wedding. Shannon recalls that one of her favorite moments from the entire event was when Luciano said vows to"my 12-year-old daughter London. He did not share with me beforehand what he had written and his words were so beautiful. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight."
Another special moment from the event was simply seeing how everything came together. "When we walked up to the venue and we saw the structure and all the flowers, chandeliers and everything that came together, it was truly a wow moment and I definitely cried," says Shannon. "It was more than we could have ever dreamed of. Our guests were obsessed with the incredible design of the reception and also the band. Everyone just loved them and had such a great time. They are still talking about it to this day."
