Orange and Green Summer Wedding at Knollwood Country Club in Granada Hills, California

Jennifer Cox (28 and an executive assistant) says that the first time she met Ashkon Batman (32 and an IT director), they didn't like each other at all. Two years later he came back into her life by chance, and they've been inseparable ever since. "The only way I can describe it is that the stars and planets must have been aligned that night, because somehow we hit it off," Jennifer says. Eight years later, the planets aligned again when Ashkon popped the question during a family vacation in Hawaii. Without a particular theme in mind for their summer country-club wedding, a vintage 1920s look with cheery pops of orange evolved organically. "My dress had a vintage feel to it, and we kept the feeling going with our white milk glass centerpieces, floral arrangements and smaller details," Jennifer says. The dress turned out to be Jennifer's favorite part of the wedding.  A few years before they got engaged, she saw Natascha McElhone in a stunning wedding dress in the first season of "Californication" and couldn't get it out of her mind. "I had spent a little time researching it in the past, but never found the designer," she recalls. "Once I was engaged it was my mission in life to figure it out, and I did." It turns out that the dress was sold in only one store, which just happened to be in her neighborhood. "It seemed like fate once I got to the store and tried it on," she says. —Meghan Overdeep
