Outer Banks Wedding at Pirate's Cove Marina in Manteo, North Carolina
A seaside wedding on a beautiful marina surrounded by sport-fishing boats created the perfect resort feel that Caroline Hoppe (29 and a nursing student) and Brian Driscoll (29 and a general contractor) desired. “Our families and guests were able to rent houses or condos for the week or just a few days right there at Pirate’s Cove,” Caroline says, and “everything was walking or golf cart riding distance.” The couple knew that they wanted to emulate the glitzy yet elegant style of Kate Spade with bold black-and-white stripes dripping in gold glitter and pops of blush. Everything, including the tablecloths, cake, bouquets, boutonnieres and mini champagne bottle favors, were wrapped in black-and-white stripes, and the checkered dance floor further accentuated the pair’s motif. Caroline and Brian featured a photo booth for their guests, complete with a dazzling sequin backdrop and silly props such as pool floats, hats, wigs and mustaches. No guest left the celebration hungry, thanks to the lavish popcorn and candy bars. Caroline’s gold-glitter kitten heels were designed by Kate Spade, as was her gold-glitter clutch, which her mother surprised her with as a gift. All the bridesmaids were given matching pearl and rhinestone Kate Spade earrings, and their short, black, chiffon dresses glamorously paired with the groomsmen black suits and black-and-white gingham bow ties.—Juliette Cheatham
