A Vibrant Pink-and-Black Color Palette Added Whimsy to This Midway, Utah, Wedding at River Bottoms Ranch

Often when couples tie the knot in a picturesque setting with epic mountain views, to-be-weds may feel shy about having fun with color and whimsical design ideas out of fear that they'd compete with the natural beauty surrounding their day. Thankfully, Josie and Jordan didn't shy away from playing with bright colors and their bold choices paid off—they were able to flawlessly execute a cheerful, mountain-view wedding with a pink-and-black color palette at Rivers Bottom Ranch in Midway, Utah.

"We truly wanted to give our guests a different experience," explains Josie. "We chose to get married in Park City so we could share our favorite place with all our family and friends. We knew nearly all our guests would be traveling from out of town and we mostly wanted to just enjoy having all our favorite people in one place. It was truly so special!" She goes on to note that "we joke we had the world's largest wedding party...it was true because we wanted our friends to know how important they are to us and how appreciative we are of their support. As far as aesthetics, I knew I wanted something bold and a little different. I thought, this is a summer wedding in the mountains, I want it to feel like that but also still feel like us. I liked the look of a modern wedding but wanted lots of pops of color. The vibrant color palette really made the most difference in the white barn reception space, the florals stole the show. The flowers were the perfect place to do this and were the source of a lot of inspiration!"

However, before Josie and Jordan celebrated their colorful barn wedding reception, they first exchanged vows in a meaningful ceremony at Saint Mary's of the Assumption in Park City. "It was so special, as two of our family friends resided over the ceremony together," says Josie. "It meant the world to have them there. Father Dave sang a song and the congregation held their hands out to bless us during the song. It was so overwhelming to see all these people there supporting us after the long journey it took to get to that point. (We had planned this wedding three times due to COVID)."

While everything from the church wedding ceremony to the vibrant flower arrangements was memorable, Josie shares that her very favorite moment from the couple's Utah wedding came at the end of the night. "Jordan and I got up with the band and sang 'All the Small Things' with the band and the crowd went wild! It brings such a smile to my face whenever I hear that song! What a blast!"
