A Playful Pink-and-Green Wedding in Malibu, California at Calamigos Ranch

Whenever people ask Sloan how she met her future husband, Kameron, she provides an annotated edition of the story, especially since they (technically) had a few meet-cutes. "When I was just 16, I walked into a smoothie shop and saw a man I would never forget," she says. "We never spoke words to each other, nor did we even make eye contact, but I knew I would see him again, I just knew." Consider her prophetic, because a few years later, the two met again, only this time online. "We dated briefly, but timing still wasn’t right, and on our separate ways we went," she adds. Don't worry, though, because the third time was the charm for this happy couple, who were apart for a few more years before being led straight back to each other. Inseparable at last, Kameron soon began planning a proposal. The two went ring shopping, so Sloan had an inkling it was coming; she just wasn't sure when. She says: "We were at a local winery for what I thought was a work party for one of his friends. All of the staff were cued in, and I hadn’t thought twice about it." At least, until he got down on one knee.

For the bride-to-be, wedding inspo came from bold, colorful events that felt alive. “I really wanted to incorporate color and be bold with design choices,” Sloan says. Green has always been Sloan's favorite color, but pink held a special place in her heart since childhood. Because of this, those two shades quickly became the foundation of the wedding palette. Beyond that, Sloan wanted the wedding to feel effortless and true to them as a couple. “We really aren't over the top or excessive,” she adds. “I also didn’t want to make anything harder for myself than it needed to be.”

That philosophy translated beautifully into their ceremony setting: beneath a majestic oak tree decorated with soft lights and framed by "minimalist draping." Guests were asked to lean into the couple’s love of color with the invitation request, “formal attire, bright colors encouraged,” and they delivered in every way. “I was so thrilled to see that so many of our guests had taken it literally and came bright and fun,” Sloan shares. The result was a vibrant crowd that felt like an extension of the couple’s vision. Florals followed suit with a fresh, lively mix of orchids, lilies and amaranthus in pinks, greens and whites, tying together the natural setting with the vibrant color story.   Another detail close to Sloan's heart were the bridesmaids’ dresses. Rather than choosing one uniform style, Sloan set out to have each bridesmaid wear something different. “I wanted to ensure they got to pick something they would feel good in,” she explains. Though it turned out to be an unexpected challenge to coordinate, the payoff was worth it. According to the bride, the variety created a beautifully dynamic and authentic look.

As for her own wedding dress, fate stepped in early. Sloan found her gown at Lovely Bride in Los Angeles, and it was the very first dress she tried on. “The moment I put the dress on, I thought, ‘this will be hard if they all feel this good,’” she recalls. After a few more try-ons and wanting to check the "say yes to the dress" task off her list, she returned to the original gown. With subtle ribbing in the front for shape and elegant straps, the dress carried a soft Grecian feel, a subtle nod to her heritage.

When asked about the most anticipated moments of the wedding day, the newlyweds couldn’t name just one. For Sloan, those included the getting ready with her girls to the quiet tenderness of her first look with her dad and brother. Every moment felt deeply meaningful. “Those men set a foundation for me that ultimately led me to find only the best husband,” she says. But perhaps the most memorable part was standing with Kameron and looking out at their favorite people. "It was such a special moment that Kameron and I often reflect on and cherish," she notes.
