From their Boston Public Gardens first look to their Fairmont Copley Plaza ballroom reception, every bit of Ashira Gendelman (a dental student at Harvard University) and Avi Klausner's (an engineer at GE Aviation) wedding day screamed romance. The high school sweethearts dated for six and a half years before Avi popped the question at the Boston Museum of Science. With big families on both sides, the Boston natives decided on the timeless ballroom at The Fairmont Copley Plaza for both their traditional Jewish ceremony and reception. With rich amber uplighting and a soft color scheme of blush, champagne, peach and gold, Ashira and Avi transformed the grand ballroom not once, but twice into a romantic setting for their day.

Soft Bridal Updo
Ashira carried a textured bouquet of pale pink and white peonies, garden roses and blushing bride proteas.
"I thought I’d go for a simple, elegant, lace gown, but when I began trying them on, they all started to look the same," says Ashira. "Then the bridal attendant brought me a not-so-simple dress that I initially laughed at. As a joke, I tried it on, but then found myself envisioning our first look on our wedding day."
Ashira's sister, her maid of honor, picked out her dress first then supplied the bridesmaids with matching blush- material so that they could have their own dresses made in whichever styles they liked. "Each of their dresses turned out so beautiful!" says Ashira.
"I knew I wanted a gown with sleeves, and David Josef made my dream a reality with a custom tulle and lace piece to wear over the strapless gown," says Ashira.

Avi and his groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos. The groom stood out in a bow tie while the others wore skinny ties.
"Our first look in the Boston Public Gardens was unforgettable," recalls Ashira. "Getting to see each other for the first time in a week, on our wedding day, all cleaned up, decked out, with a backdrop of the park’s lush greenery, florals, and even swans in Frog Pond—it couldn't have been more perfect."
