Kate found her gorgeous Steven Birnbaum ball gown when she was flipping through a magazine one night. She called the designer, but they didn't have any dresses in Colorado, where she lived. But they had some in Minnesota—a sign, she thought, since that was where she and Patrick were planning to be married.
