The Ceremony Decor

The festivities began with a formal Catholic ceremony at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in downtown Denver, a grand space that needed little decoration. The high ceilings and stained glass are a work of art in and of itself, and flower arrangements would have been overwhelmed by the architecture of the church, Mandy says. Since both the bride’s and groom’s families are Catholic (Italian Catholic on the bride’s side and Irish Catholic on the groom's), the ceremony featured a full mass. The father of the groom's best friend, who had recently been ordained a deacon (and who had been a groomsman in Scott's parents' wedding more than 30 years before), presided, and close friends and relatives also contributed with readings.
