When the day of the wedding at last arrived, guests headed to St. Michael's on Fernandina Beach for the traditional Catholic ceremony. Although the wedding-day rain was a disappointment, it actually made the ceremony very cozy, Danielle says. The groomsmen formed a human canopy with umbrellas as guests entered the church, which had been decorated with candles and bouquets of fresh wheat. Danielle and Colin's officiant, a close friend of the family, traveled from Ohio to perform the ceremony. He knows us well and was able to personalize the homily, which made the ceremony even more special, Danielle says.
