This Colorful Rooftop Wedding in Asbury Park is Not Your Typical Jersey Shore Wedding
Nicole and Liam first caught one another’s eye while working at an advertising company that hand-paints murals and signs. Together, they used their creative backgrounds to piece together a fun and funky work-of-art wedding. “I felt fulfilled being able to coordinate everything on my own and see our creative ideas come to life,” Nicole says. From playful illustrated invites to pink acrylic table numbers, the pair covered their venue in bold rainbow hues for a truly one-of-a-kind celebration. Layers of overlapping fluorescent acrylic sheets, funky florals and views of the ocean served as the backdrop to the couple’s outdoor ceremony.
The couple’s sisters all wore a dark green dresses, funking things up with rainbow statement earrings and saturated blooms. Guests could take a break throughout the night on a pair of personality-packed sofas in the lounge area, which was also decked out with an eclectic mix of florals. Whimsical monochromatic arrangements (with lots of spray-painted buds and palms) lent a dramatic effect throughout the day.
Colorful hanging installations dotted the reception venue, while yellow linens and towering arrangements decorated the tables. “It was beyond everything I ever imagined for the space,” Nicole says. Multicolored taper candles cast a bright glow on the scene. Instead of cutting a cake, Nicole and Liam offered guests an assortment of their favorite sugary treats, including doughnuts, hand pies and Choco Tacos.
