Alex and Owen met the modern way: by swiping right on Tinder in 2021. After talking for a few days and deciding to just be friends — they did live in different states —they grabbed dinner from the Taco Bell drive through. The hangout went so well that they decided that maybe there was something more there. Their second hangout, otherwise known as their first date went just as well and they've been together ever since.

A few of Alex and Owen's favorite memories from their time together: camping every summer with their dogs, Coney, and newest addition, Vernor, attending concerts, moving in together, and lots of trips to the bookstore.

Alex and Owen's proposal was private and sweet. Owen had several plans throughout the day to propose that he kept changing because he wanted it to be perfect. He originally thought about proposing on the beach in South Haven, on a riverside walk in Grand Rapids, and at dinner, but ultimately decided that the best place to propose was in their kitchen -- one of their favorite and most used parts of their home -- surrounded by the dogs.
