The year was 2018. Alison was fresh out of high-school, attending St. Cloud State University. Dakota just graduated from St. Cloud Tech and was working as a diesel mechanic.

Alison loved to show cows at the fair, mostly did it independently while being in 4H. Dakota was also in 4H in prior years and had lots of friends that showed at the fair. Dakota noticed Alison showing her cow Holiday at the fair, and managed to ask another 4H-er who that “cute girl” was. Fast forward from August to November, Alison and Dakota didn’t have any contact.

Around November, Dakota got Alison’s Snapchat, and took a chance. They talked for awhile, and planned a first date. Weeks later after talking and many dates, as Alison was leaving to go to work, Dakota anxiously asked her to be his girlfriend and the rest was history.

February 4th of 2023, Dakota and Alison traveled to their friends ranch and were helping with calving of their cows. Dakota took Alison to the barn to see some twin calves, and there was the most beautiful red calf with an ear tag that read “Marry me?” Alison through all the tears, said YES!

They are incredibly ecstatic to finally tie the knot surrounded by their family and friends and start their lives together.
