Our story began with some bird crap and love at first swipe. No, that's not a typo, we actually met in 2019 through a dating app called Tinder. We connected instantly and went out on some amazing dates. But one of our most memorable dates was the day we visited the Bronx Zoo. We entered the bird cage at the zoo, and a bird immediately took a huge crap on my shoulder. After Alyssa caught her breath from laughing so hard, she looked at me and said, “you know what that means, right? Many years of good luck.” Four months later, we said “I love you” for the first time in New Paltz, making New Paltz a place that would be close to both of our hearts forever.

Now you can see why two years later, I popped the big question on the top of Mohonk Mountain in New Paltz. Alyssa cried A LOT, but through all of the sniffles and tears, she was able to vocalize a “yes!” The next chapter of our story began on the top of that mountain when we realized we found a home within each other. Our love only grows stronger by the day, and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together.

As it turns out, Alyssa was right about that lucky bird crap after all.
