Why did you choose to get married in the US Virgin Islands?
In our travels, we've really enjoyed seeing the National Parks of the USA. We've been working to see all 63 of the US national parks, and thought it would be special to get married at one, so all of our favorite people can enjoy it with us. Peter and I had talked about our desire to get married on a beach, so we thought what better way to combine that dream with our National Park adventures than to get married on St. John? More than 2/3 of the island is national park, with many beaches, gorgeous views, and perfect weather.
Why don't you have a registry?
We're asking for no gifts for our wedding. We recognize that you all will be traveling so far, at great expense, and that truly is all we could ask for. Your presence is our present.
If you feel like you'd still like to give a gift, we would be honored to receive donations to our future home fund. Our home right now is our RV as we travel the country, so we don't have room to store gifts that we receive. We hope that one day we can have a house, but until then, we don't have room for any more possessions. Amy loves getting and reading cards, so please feel free to still bring a card to wish the newlyweds your best.
Are children invited? Will there be childcare available for my children who are not invited?
Due to the size and nature of our reception venue, we're only able to have a limited guest list. If you didn't receive a specific invitation for your child, our space will not be able to accommodate them. Our venue does not permit children due to safety concerns. We have a glowing recommendation from our wedding planner for childcare on the island:
Kid's Night In on St. John offers the services of multiple sitters, who are qualified to care for babies and children of all ages. They are a very popular service, so reach out as soon as you know you'd like to use their services: https://www.kidsnightin.com/. They provide services in your lodging.
Can I have a plus one?
Unfortunately, the small size of our venue means that we're unable to accommodate plus-ones that aren't on our guest list. If we end up having more availability than we thought, we will reconsider.
What should I wear?
Our dress code is Island Chic. We'd love for you all to be comfortable, but still dressed to impress. Since the ceremony will take place on the beach, sandals or boat shoes are recommended (but let's still keep it classy, folks). Linen pants and shirts are on point for men, but shorts are OK too. We're still hoping to see men in collars if they're wearing shorts, though. There may be a breeze, but it will be hot so consider wearing something that won't be caught up in the breeze, but will still keep you cool and comfortable. Jumpsuits and rompers are welcome, as well as dresses - short and long. No need for jackets or ties for men
When should I arrive?
We'd love to have all of our guests make it smoothly to the island, but given the nature of airlines, we know that unexpected problems can come up. We'd recommend that all guests who are in the wedding party or are immediate family plan to arrive on Friday, May 22nd, that way if any delays come up, we have a little bit of time to work with. Otherwise, plan to arrive in the USVI on or before Saturday, May 23rd. And we'd love for as many people who are in town to join us for our rehearsal lunch on the beach on Saturday, May 23rd, so if you're able to arrive in time for that, even better!
Will Food and drink be provided?
Yes! Food and drink will both be provided at our reception. There will be a cocktail hour with apps, as well as a taco bar for dinner and some tasty desserts (no cake, sorry!). An open bar will be provided with wine, beer, a selection of pre-mixed signature cocktails, and non-alcoholic options.
Will there be dancing?
Absolutely. Come prepared to cut a rug after dinner. And if you have any song requests, please let the bride and groom know prior to the wedding (no requests will be guaranteed at the reception).
Where should I stay?
On the western side of the island of St. John (Cruz Bay). This will ensure that our transportation will be able to pick you up and bring you home - since there is no parking available at our reception venue. For more details, please see the page entitled "Where to Stay"
Where will the bride and groom be staying?
We're not telling! We'll be staying in a villa near Villa Kalorama (where the reception will be).
When and How Will I receive My Invitation?
Invitations will be sent out in the fall, and will be all-digital. You'll receive an invitation to your email, and will be asked to RSVP digitally as well.
Where Can I Mail a Card?
Since we're on the road for the next year, our mailing address will change from month to month. Feel free to send any mail to us in CT, and we'll have it forwarded to us when we're able to.

Can we stay at the Westin?
The Westin St. John Resort Villas is a premium vacation ownership resort - meaning a timeshare type of situation. It is conveniently located and we've heard good things, so if you're eligible to book there, go for it. Most guests will find that they're not able to book there, although you might find some time-share owners who list their space through third-party sites etc.
