Q + A

Q&A

Why do we have Best Men/Maids of Honor?

We both have very close people to us and believe these people are the closest to us - where no one person is above the other, but they're all special and meaningful to us.

Why Durham Evangelical Church?

Andrew grew up at DEC and Mel and Andrew both went there for a while together before investing in a different church together as a couple.

Where did Andrew propose?

Odiorne State Park, Rye NH. Andrew Proposed to Mel on March 30th, 2024 on Good Friday. This is significant for a few reasons: 1) Andrew & Mel love the beach and the ocean. As well as they've gone to Odiorne many times to Beachcomb. Mel is a marine biologist and has a passion for marine life. 2) Good Friday is celebrated because of Easter and the hope to come in Easter, and to reflect on what Jesus did - in the same way a proposal/engagement is the hope of a wedding. 3) Good Friday is also celebrated as the day Jesus died for us, and in marriage, the man is supposed to love the wife as Christ loved the church (to die), and so Andrew saw great meaning behind proposing on Good Friday. (Ephesians 5:25)
