After graduating from Binghamton University, Joe moved to New York City to begin his career on Wall Street. Not knowing a soul, he decided to join Match, in hopes of meeting some new people. Meanwhile, Angela was working full-time in Manhattan and attending grad school at night. On a whim, she, too, created an account on Match. When she received Joe's first message, she knew he was "The One."
On April 10, 2015, the first warm day of spring, Joseph suggested we take a stroll after work. With Central Park in sight, we decided to take a horse and carriage ride. Upon finishing the ride, we continued to walk through the park. He told me he wanted to kiss me on Bow Bridge because he missed the opportunity to do so on our first visit there. The bridge was crowded with tourists and the next bridge in sight was crowded with a camera crew. Frustrated, we moved along to the next bridge, a car bridge overlooking the lake, and he finally kissed me. We were just about to leave when Joe pulled out a folded piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to me. Inside was a checklist of the steps he had to take to get to that point (get approval from friends and family, find the perfect ring etc.). The last box was the only one that was unchecked. It said, "The Moment." Joe got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I immediately said YES!!! We ended the night at Maria Pia, the restaurant we ate at on our second date. We popped a bottle of Prosecco and celebrated our engagement, truly happy for all the wonderful things to come.
