Our Wedding

In 2022, the NC State Cru worship team held auditions to add in new members to the group. Garrett Keegan, an electric guitar player in the group, sat through these auditions and got to hear his future wife sing for the first time. Though, he didn't know that yet. Anna auditioned and the two began a friendship through this ministry.

Where it began... 

Garrett and Anna bonded over the next two years through the worship team and their mutual friends Caleb, Ethan, and Matt. This group became close through weekly dinners, music writing, and Cru events. Anna did not have a car during her Sophomore year which allowed Garrett to regularly drive her to these functions.

Becoming Friends

During the Spring of her Sophomore year, Anna realized that she had feelings for Garrett. Cautious not to disrupt the friendship she had with him, she didn't do anything about this. Anna was confident that due to his graduation in May a relationship was unlikely to occur. Unbeknownst to her, Garrett was starting his ridiculously and near completely unnecessarily long winded vetting process to decide if he liked her too. [Our individual perspectives on this portion may differ, Garrett's goes as follows: "Anna chose to give no indication at all that she was interested and in fact went out of her to way to make sure that nothing she did could possibly be construed as her being interested in me. In order to ensure I wasn't overstepping any boundary with the apparently uninterested Anna, I moved cautiously towards a relationship with her. "]

With the CRU semi-formal dance approaching, neither Garrett nor Anna had the courage to ask the other if they wanted to go together. Luckily our friends decided for us by deciding not to go and instead just take pictures together then head home. Of course, Anna needed a ride to the picture spot, so Garrett (in his suit) picked up Anna (in her beautiful red dress) to head to the event that they were definitely not attending as a couple. While taking pictures, Garrett, Anna, and our friend Ethan spontaneously decided that they were going to get dinner then head to the dance. Inevitably Ethan's role at the restaurant turned into third wheeling as Anna and Garrett fell deep into conversation.

Okay I Definitely Like You 

After Semi Formal, both Anna and Garrett knew there was mutual interest. Unfortunately, Garrett was graduating soon, leading Anna to believe that a relationship may not happen. The two parted ways, with Garrett heading back to his hometown and Anna heading to a trip abroad. Sitting on the plane to head to Rome, Italy, Anna decided to text Garrett about music. They then spent the next two weeks talking during every hour their time zones overlapped.

Making a Move

After Anna arrived back in the States, the two went on their (actual) first date. They met in Raleigh for an outdoor concert of Anna's favorite band, Wim Tapley &amp; The Cannons. The next day Anna moved into Camp Willow Springs for her second summer on staff. This didn't deter Garrett, who had already decided he wanted to pursue a relationship with Anna. Two weeks into the summer, Garrett came to visit Anna at camp, where (despite the fact he wasn't her boyfriend yet) she got to show him off to all her camp friends. Despite being off grid the entire summer, the two talked everyday and eventually decided it was time to put a big fancy official title on it in the beginning of July!

We are together! 

A multitude of fantastic date nights and family and friends met later, Anna and Garrett looked at each other and new their relationship would last a life, so it was time to commit! A timid Anna and Garret went ring shopping on their one year anniversary (Garrett's rule)! What Anna wasn't expecting was Garrett to buy the ring they looked at within a week and make plans to propose. GARDEN FORMAL

We ask you to join us in dressing up for a joyful summer wedding! The following are a few clothing requests for the ceremony and reception. While deciding what to wear keep in mind that the ceremony will be partially outside and it could be warmer. The chapel is open air and there are fans to keep temperature mild. The rest of the evening will be inside with AC!

Women: All colors are welcome (except for white), and summer colors are encouraged! We ask women wear longer dresses or equivalent formal wear (such as pant suit, jumpsuit, etc.). All patterns and floral prints are welcome! The bridal party will be wearing varying shades of summer colors (blues, greens, pinks, and purples), so have no fear about matching them! Our intentions is not to have their colors be separate and encourage you to wear whatever summer tone you like!

Men: We ask that men wear either a sport coat or jacket, no tux is required. The groomsmen are wearing tan suits with white undershirts, so consider choosing a different combination if you are planning to wear a tan jacket. NO JEANS PLEASE :)
