Our Story
Our Beginning

In June of 2014, Anna and Theresa first met while sitting on a curb waiting to march in the PRIDE Parade with their parish. During this two hour wait they got to know each other and had every intention of staying in touch. Anna's heart prayed, "Ok God, I know I can't have her because she is taken, but since it can't be her, can I find someone like her?" Both had very busy lives and some growth to go through before they would meet again.

As fait would have it, Anna and Theresa would not meet again until June of 2015, at Dives Take the Hill, a fundraiser for LGBTQ homeless youth and young adults. Theresa set up dinner plans with friends from St. Joseph's and PSKS, Anna was running late, but when she entered the room she took Theresa's breath away and Theresa thought, "Wow! She is more stunning than I remember." As the evening went on, we all had a good time and made arrangements to do brunch and watch the Parade together. Anna began to think, "this is a really smart woman with a deep spirituality and I would love to get to know her better."

On the 4th of July, 2015, they had their first date, though neither knew that is what it was. Anna asked if Theresa wanted to do something, and Theresa had every intention of camping over that weekend, but, for the sake of getting to know Anna she said sure. They took a trip to Whidbey Island for a picnic on the beach with views of Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Range. After a couple hours, the beach was too hot so they found a forested picnic area where they talked about God, theology, the sacraments, spirituality, sports, hiking, sky diving, kayaking, music and family. Neither wanted they conversation to end. So they continued it at a winery. Theresa distinctively reminders when the world became more beautiful again. Colors became brighter, the sun warmer, and joy and hope returned to her life through their conversation. The evening continued with dinner, and mild flirtation transpired. Since it was the fourth of July, they parked and watched the fire works over the Puget Sound. Both in the hearts began to pray because of the intense draw they had with each other. Anna did not want that feeling to end so, she brought Theresa out dancing. It was a 14 hour date :)

The following week, both were extremely nervous over their developing feelings and communicated a lot through text. Theresa discovered that the wine she bought had a weak cork and was leaking, so she invited Anna over for steak. She knew Anna was a beautiful daughter of God and she promised in her heart to treat her with honesty and dignity worthy of such a lovely lady. Theresa developed the courage to ask if they could date and Anna excitedly said yes and the rest is history.

They have had a lovely courtship of baseball games, a night at Godspell the musical, a trip to Glacier National Park, nights at the symphony, and by God Sushi!!! They feel in love and are helping each other to become the best versions of themselves they can be. They can't wait to spend the rest of their lives loving and serving God and others together.
