It all started with a brief but memorable encounter in Frisco, Colorado. Though our first meeting was short, I had a feeling it was just the beginning.

The real story begins on our first trip together—a stay at a mutual friend’s cabin in Winter Park. I arrived early and proudly staked my claim on the top bunk in the bunk room. Later in the trip, when the rest of our group arrived, Annie took it upon herself to steal my bunk bed, hurling my carefully placed belongings—including my highly protected laptop—onto the floor. Given that there were plenty of unclaimed beds available, I made it very clear that whoever had swiped my spot and tossed my things across the room had made a huge mistake. This, of course, led to a bit of an argument… and, needless to say, neither of us ended up sleeping in that bunk that night.

Despite our rocky start, our paths continued to cross as our friend groups became more intertwined. We skied together a few times, but things took a turn when we ran into each other during Annie's family ski trip with her parents and cousins. I was slightly embarrassed by my long, unkempt hippie hair, but we had an incredible time—drinking a little whiskey on the chairlift, making turns on the mountain, and sharing some unforgettable moments with her family. We even have some great pictures from that day.

Though her parents were a bit apprehensive about my wild appearance, they still insisted I join them for dinner. It was clear they saw something between us, as they prodded us with questions throughout the meal. The following week, I cut my hair and trimmed my beard. Annie couldn’t resist—and just like that, everything changed.

From that moment on, we were inseparable. Bonded by our love for the outdoors and countless adventures, our story has been filled with laughter, love, and plenty of unforgettable moments.
