Deven and Asada first met at Lumberton Middle School in 2010. Asada first caught Deven's eye walking home from school. She stood in a circle with her friends, bowlegged, brace faced, a bossy attitude, with thick glasses. And still, Deven knew immediately that she was something special! But if you know her, she had her head in the books and was focused only on being a lawyer (now she's an Esthetician and business owner, but that's a story for another day). For years, Deven worked towards being more than "friends," and developing a genuine relationship until he got the chance to officially date her. Took four years, but who's counting?

Fast forward to Asada's sweet sixteen in 2014. After a few intimidating and threatening family conversations, Deven finally received permission from her parents to date her. The rest was history: a love story of two high school sweethearts. Together they grew, pushing each other mentally and emotionally to new heights. Deven followed Asada to college in 2016, La Salle University, which tested their relationship, taught them to accept the good and the bad, and pushed them to lean on God's plan for them. The love they had for one another lasted through several school graduations, a long pandemic, Deven adopting Asada's furry child (Princess), and an eleven hour drive to start their new life in Atlanta, Georgia. Now as an engaged and soon to be married couple, they've developed an unbreakable bond their friends and loved ones admire, Asada learned how to cook, and Deven learned how to eat even when it's not the best. Choosing to love, trust, and protect one another above all else.
