Ava and Tyler met at a church party at Tyler’s house on November 17th 2023. Ava had just returned from a mission trip in Peru the day before and was feeling tired and nervous about going, so she didn’t really want to go to the party, but decided to go anyway. She even purposefully arrived late, though she was only the second person there. When she arrived, Tyler was the first person she met while playing basketball. Ava suggested they play a game of knockout, and Tyler won. Afterward, they spent the evening playing sand volleyball and talking to other people.

Later, as Ava stood by the fire, Tyler came up to her, and they started talking. Though Ava was hesitant at first, they soon engaged in conversations about church, Ava’s trip to Peru, her church college group, and Tyler’s motorcycle. Tyler showed her his motorcycle, but Ava wasn’t impressed since she doesn’t like them, and thinks they’re too dangerous. When it was time for Ava to leave, Tyler asked for her number, Surprised and a little flustered, she gave him her number and left waiting for a text back.
