Our Story

Becoming Doctors Together

Brianna: Tyler and I met in physical therapy school in 2017. I remember complementing his Wonder Years shirt the first time I spoke to him. It didn't take long to realize we were great study buddies. We bonded during the long hours spent in study rooms, between watching Netflix together while on study breaks and filling up white boards full of information before final exams. We truly were best friends first. We started dating in February of 2019 and became doctors together in May 2020.

Brianna: I finally got Tyler to break and adopt our cat, Jax, in November of 2020. We had only been living in our apartment for about a month, but we knew there was a missing piece in our life. We do not really need to tell you how much our Jaxy means to us because we talk about him ALL THE TIME. He is our fur-child and heart of our home. Tyler is such a great cat-dad, even though hes allergic to Jax.

Tyler: Yeah, I knew I was a sucker when we got him. We were just going to look at cats, and it was at that point that I knew I was done for. My name is on the adoption papers, so he’s a Laib, but Bri insists hes a Ricardo. Guess well all be Laib soon! And to think he wasnt even her first choice. Now she talks to him more than me some days!

Update: Our second fur-child was adopted in December 2024. Sally has been the annoying little sister Jax still isn’t so sure he really wanted.

Brianna: I was told a few days beforehand that we would be taking family photos that had been gifted to Tylers mom for that past Christmas. The night before I was stressing out because I didnt have anything to wear. That afternoon, I did not suspect a thing until Tyler got down on one knee! I was completely distracted with taking family photos and keeping my hair under control with the wind. Tyler was very sneaky and got my parents, my cousin, and her husband to hide until after he proposed. It was a great day and I can honestly say I was very surprised! Kelsi did an amazing job with our engagement shoot!

Tyler: What a long two days this was! It started with me changing Bris oil the day before and I was so distracted it took twice as long. And then I had to pretend I didnt know what Bri was buying clothes for the night before. It all culminated to a very stressful morning and we turned up late for family photos. Everything felt like it was moving in slow motion and all of my senses were heightened. Thank God Brianna is so oblivious because I thought for sure she ruined the surprise three times! At first she thought I was ruining family photos and told me to get up, then she realized what was going on. My imperfectly executed surprise turned into a great day celebrating with family.
