As told by Camden...

Circa Halloween 2014, San Luis Obispo, CA – Erin, as a freshman girl, was getting ready for one of the many Halloween parties she was invited to, while I, as a freshman guy not yet in Greek life, was preparing for another night of FIFA in the Cal Poly dorms. Erin walked out of her dorm room rocking a bright red jumpsuit for her Brittney Spears costume - and thus began the longest friend-zone of my life.

Over the next two years, we became close friends. We studied together, went on platonic coffee dates, and attended Greek life parties together. The attraction was mutual and obvious, however, to my dismay, we remained just friends.

… And then, sometime in late sophomore year, something clicked. Maybe it was me being more mature (doubtful) or my improved physique (more likely), but we went from being a will they / won't they story, to a story of true love. We spent the remainder of the year becoming best friends and getting to know each other on a much deeper and more meaningful level.

But alas, Erin was set to study abroad in the summer and I was set to study abroad in the fall, and we both thought that we didn’t want to date long distance. We stayed close, but decided not to make it official. We kept in touch all summer and three weeks into the fall semester - it became clear I was at a turning point, either go all in, or risk ruining what had been the best relationship in my life. So from Barcelona, I asked Erin to officially become my girlfriend - and thank god I did!

And the rest is history . . . after making it official, we inevitably ended up dating long distance throughout the semester and the next 3 years as we explored summer internships, studied abroad again, and worked to line up post-college jobs in the same city. Finally, after Erin graduated from Cal Poly and moved to San Francisco, we were reunited with no long distance on the horizon. Since then, we’ve kept busy exploring San Francisco, skiing, wine tasting, and enjoying life together in the Bay Area. I took the next step and proposed to Erin, making it officially official, in the Fall of 2022 up in Sonoma, CA.

We are so excited to start life as a married couple and celebrate with our family and friends in the same place where we first met!
