Johnny and Carlie had gone through relationships, and breakups and had reached a point of questioning if they'd ever find their person. Carlie had moved to Nashville in early December of 2023 to pursue her creative career and in hopes of meeting the one God had planned for her while Johnny had been living in Dallas since October of 2022 also looking for his future spouse.

One day in April, Johnny messaged a mutual friend of theirs to ask about going to a trivia night at a restaurant called M.L Rose while he was in Nashille visiting his family and friends. Carlie, who had been going to trivia night for a couple of months would of course be there too. Little did they know they would meet their future spouse that night. Johnny and his best friend Kevin were the first ones there followed by Carlie and her best friend Hannah who was visiting Nashville for the first time. The rest of the group showed up and Trivia began! Johnny was immediately attracted to Carlie but was dead set on finding someone in Dallas since he had no luck in Nashville, so didn't think much about it. As the night went on Carlie and Johnny began talking a bit when Johnny made many jokes that he was pleased to hear Carlie find funny. They immediately realized they had the same sense of dry witty humor, which seemed pretty rare for the two. Johnny went on to ask Carlie how many kids she wanted which Carlie, who was completely oblivious to Johnny's flirting, responded with "yes". That night Johnny left trivia knowing he wanted to date her. He then had six days before he left to go back home to Dallas to get her to date him. They saw each other again at a game night a couple of days later. Carlie was still oblivious to Johnny flirting, even though he was staring at her all night. Carlie of course noticed how attractive he was and tried to flirt a bit as well but knew he lived in Texas so thought it rather pointless.

Later that night Johnnys had messaged Carlie asking her out on a date Saturday morning before his flight out. She agreed but was hesitant given how much was going on in her life at the time. Luckily, her friend Hannah gave her the courage and motivation to go. The night before their first date, Carlie and Hannah went out to celebrate Hannah's birthday. Hannah had told Carlie to invite Johnny to meet them, which Carlie was again very hesitant to do but Johnny agreed immediately and they met downtown in a karaoke bar. They talked, laughed, danced and Hannah took their very first photo together on her film camera (see above photo). Johnny then took them home and followed Hannah's instructions to kiss Carlie goodnight, which he did. This would be their last first kiss. Not even eight hours later, Carlie met Johnny at one of his favorite coffee shops for breakfast. They then were joined by his sister, brother-in-law, and their three-year-old son. Carlie, who loves kids was immediately consumed with his presence and wanted nothing but to play with him. Seeing how Carlie was with kids and his nephew made Johnny know he wanted to date her and be possibly even more someday. She then met his mom as she picked him up to take him to the airport. Johnny would not be back for six weeks, so this was goodbye until then for them, or so they thought. Over the next three weeks, Johnny and Carlie quickly fell in love. They would Facetime for hours, day and night, getting to know each other in a very intentional and deep way.

Then on May 10th, Johnny proposed at the restaurant they met that night at trivia to which Carlie responded with "ABSOLUTELY!"

They recently moved Johnny back to Nashville from Dallas, Texas and are now planning their wedding and new life.

They are very thankful to the friends and family who have shown all the love and support for them and their future.
