We recommend flying into Charlotte Douglas International Airport - it's a 2.5 hour drive to Banner Elk. Guests can also fly into Asheville Regional Airport - it's a 2 hour drive to Banner Elk.

We will have a shuttle service to and from the celebration Saturday from both the Beech Mountain Vacation Rentals and The Best Western in Banner Elk.

The ceremony will be outside on a grass meadow (so select shoes that work for grass!). Cocktail hour and the reception will be a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, but the top of the mountain never gets above 80 degrees in the summer!

While we love your kids (we really do!), we have chosen for our vow renewal to be an adult-only occasion in order to better allow all our guests, including parents, an evening to unwind and relax. We are hopeful that this advance notice will allow you to still be able to be a part of our special day and enjoy having the evening off!

Out of an abundance of caution for those who are immunocompromised and close to our hearts, we ask that everyone provide either proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of negative COVID-19 test. Please email ericandcarlynielsen@gmail.com with copies of your vaccine cards. For anyone not providing a vaccine card, we ask that you take a rapid antigen test after arriving into Banner Elk before you come to wedding festivities (each day that you attend).
