Troy and Cassandra met at church in 2015. In 2016, Troy adopted Cassandra's dog, Ava, when Cassandra was relocating, and the two kept in touch periodically for updates on Ava. As a law enforcement supervisor needing help with a case, Troy reached out to Cassandra (a therapist) for a mental health provider perspective, and the two remained in touch, eventually having lunch at PBR. Their first date was framed by salads and gluten free pizza. Whatever ties or gluten free dough that binds, Troy and Cassandra continued to pop up in one another's lives and believe that their evolving relationship and love are the results of a greater plan. They look forward to being married in September 2025 and continuing their hiking, traveling, and gluten free pizza adventures. By the way, Ava lives with the couple and their daughter Macie and is doing well.
