Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12

"Two are better than one,

because they have a good return for their labor:

If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.

But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.

Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.

But how can one keep warm alone?

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.

A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. "

Chance and I both attended Auburn University, both attended UAB, and had about 1,000 mutual close friends; however, I never had the pleasure of meeting him until almost 2 years after we graduated from Auburn. It felt like after that first initial meeting, I couldnt stop running into him- a God wink if you will!

I finally asked Chance on our first date, yes, you read that right. After that first date I went home for Christmas and told my mom something about him feels different, he really listened, asked me intentional questions, and it seemed like he really cared to know about me. Chance has a great love for his family, friends, and all those around him, and I love that it is the first thing that I loved about him.

It didnt take long after that first date for Chance to officially ask me to be his girlfriend. After that, it didnt take long for us to realize that we could do this forever. He is my biggest encourager, my best friend, and the person who always looks out for me.

Knowing (and praying) that this boy was likely going to settle me down for good in Birmingham, I was antsy to travel somewhere new once I graduated from OT school. When the opportunity to live in Charleston for three months fell in my lap, Chance encouraged me to pursue what would make me happy.

Fast forward to my last weekend in Charleston, Chance and I stepped out of our car and walked into Waterfront Park. I said “Wow It’s so pretty outside, and there’s no one here! This would have been the perfect time to for you to propose!” And moments later, on April 22nd, 2022, Chance got on one knee and asked me to be his wife.

It was an unforgettable weekend filled with surprises from family and friends all coming into town to celebrate with us. We have truly felt blessed in this process and are grateful for all of those around us. Since then we have planned, prayed, and counted down the days until June 10th, 2023 when we can make this thing official and celebrate with you all!! ♡
