Our Story

This story starts when myself and Faith were both attending Calhoun Community College and somehow ended up in the same history class together. Someone (I’m not naming anybody) decided to sit by me and got help passing the class😂. We both attended Calhoun the following semester and stayed in touch, and we also managed to have the same history class at the same time again, unintentionally. I then withdrew from Calhoun and began online classes through UAB, and shortly thereafter I started working at the Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy. Once I started working there, Faith expressed interest in law enforcement and I was able to walk her through the process of applying for a job. She got a job as a Corrections Officer and began working at the Sheriff’s Office with me and on the same shift as me. We were really good friends and always had a good time talking to each other and cutting up.

As time went by, I began to realize that I really liked Faith and wanted to be more than friends. I didn’t know it at the time, but she felt the same way. She and I continued to be friends until August of 2022 when I finally asked her to go on a date with me. Luckily, she said yes (how could she have said no?), and we went to Texas Roadhouse (her favorite restaurant) and to see the new Top Gun: Maverick movie. We had an amazing time together and needless to say she decided going out with me wasn’t too bad or we wouldn’t be here today.

After dating for around 10 months, I knew that this girl was the one I was going to marry and spend the rest of my life with. I knew that I wanted to raise a family with her and go through all life had to offer together. So, I pulled a fast one on her by buying a big ole diamond ring and scheduling a “photography session” because we’d never had professional pictures taken. I had the photography session set at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens in July 2023. I let the photographer know what I was up to so she could help me out. I had the photographer take some solo pictures of Faith, and while she did I snuck behind her and dropped down to my knee. When she turned around it actually took her a second to find me because she was looking up and not down, but when she saw what I was doing I could see the look of surprise in her face. Obviously she said yes (good thing she did or that uppercut was about to be mean coming all the way from the ground where I was at), and now we’re remodeling our first house and getting married.

We’re the proud momma and daddy to two dogs and five cats (just animals for now). We look forward to a happy, prosperous marriage with each other and to raising a happy family one day. We love each other more than life itself and there is no doubt in our minds that we are right where we’re supposed to be!

Faith,

I love you more than I did yesterday, the most I ever have, but not as much as I will tomorrow.
