Cheyenne and Adam met in September 2018 as newly commissioned Second Lieutenants in the United States Marine Corps, while in training at The Basic School, Quantico, VA. Luckily, they both failed their pistol qualification and were re-assigned to the same company, platoon, and squad. Adam still claims that he "failed on purpose" to meet her, but Cheyenne is the only one to have shot expert in pistol three times since then.
Cheyenne found Adam to be obnoxiously cheery at their first encounter, while being told the devastating news that they'd have to restart their grueling training. He didn't know why, but Adam felt a gravitational pull towards Cheyenne with an unexplainable feeling that they'd grow close. Accompanied by futile words of encouragement from Cheyenne's mother, Kathy, "you never know, you may meet your future husband," it turns out a couple hunches were correct. Eventually, Adam's charm won Cheyenne over after countless trips to IHOP, Outback Steakhouse, and Washington, DC on the weekends. What initially began as a close friendship rooted in field exercises and laughter over food, later blossomed into their biggest blessing.
They've remained ever-competitive, whether it be mini-golf, obstacle courses, go-karts, or sprinting barefoot on the beach (we'll let you guess the reigning champ of each). Hint: It's not Adam :)
Adam proposed to Cheyenne in Rome, Italy, outside the Colosseum, on September 1, 2024. They enjoyed a lovely week-long trip afterwards exploring Urbino, Florence, Venice and Paris as newly engaged fiancés.
Cheyenne and Adam are both ecstatic about celebrating the most important day of their lives with the most important people in their lives. We look forward to seeing you all at Morais!
