Our Story

All That You Are Is …

As I stood across the room, our eyes met, and in that moment, his striking blue eyes and charming smile instantly captured my attention. My heart raced, palms grew clammy, and I felt a surge of anxiety as I prepared to greet my date at the bar where we had agreed to meet. Despite my nerves, this was not my first encounter with Daniel Thomas Voss. We had actually crossed paths in high school. He fondly recalls the precise day he first noticed me in the cafeteria at Start High School while he was in trouble for being in the wrong lunch period. Amidst Mr. Rs attempts at discipline, Daniel was captivated by the sound of my laughter as I navigated through the cafeteria with a few friends.
From that moment, he was determined to get to know me. In an interesting twist of fate, he later discovered that I was friends with his brother Ben on MySpace. Curious about me, he inquired, and once he learned my name and that Ben had classes with me, he sent me a friend request. Although we connected on social media and exchanged messages occasionally, circumstances never aligned for us, as I was often involved with unsuitable partners and he hesitated to express his feelings, being somewhat shy.
Fast forward to July 2023, a Facebook post I shared captured his attention, prompting him to comment. This engagement sparked a natural and flowing conversation that eventually moved to Messenger, where we spent an exhilarating seven hours discussing everything and anything. A profound sense of connection with him emerged—something I had seldom experienced before.
Despite my initial nervousness, we agreed to meet in person that evening. After our time at the bar, he graciously opened the car door for me as we prepared to depart. Surprised by his thoughtfulness, I jokingly remarked that it wasn’t necessary, to which he playfully retorted, “Well, forget it then.” This light-hearted exchange set the tone for what felt like an undeniable connection.
As we stood outside our vehicles, an ominous change in the weather added an element of tension to the atmosphere. I inwardly worried about an impending storm, but he reassured me, saying, “Oh, it’s just heat lightning; it won’t rain.” Trusting his judgment, we continued to converse for some time until he mustered the courage to ask if he could kiss me. I consented, and as our lips met, the skies opened up, enveloping us in a warm summer downpour. We shared a joyful kiss, laughing as we became soaked to the skin before parting ways.
Since that night, we have been inseparable. Although we have faced challenges, we have communicated openly and worked through our past experiences together. We often reflect on how God orchestrated our paths, allowing us to grow individually before bringing us together at the right moment. Daniel has quickly become my best friend, confidant, and the person I want to spend my life with.
As we prepare to embark on the journey of marriage, I can confidently say that I am thrilled to commit to this incredible man, perfectly crafted for me. He embodies everything I dreamed of in a partner—my own Prince Charming who has swept me off my feet. Sometimes, I feel that my mother must have envisioned him for me, as he reflects the qualities she always hoped for in my future spouse. He is my unicorn, and all that he is , is all that I will ever need.
